Booking a villa for a group trip brings up a lot of practical questions. We’d rather answer them before you arrive than leave you guessing. Here are the most common ones we hear from guests at Meridian Collection.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Standard check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 11am. We know that doesn’t always line up perfectly with drive times, so reach out to us directly if you need to discuss early check-in or late checkout — we’ll always try to accommodate where we can.
How many guests can each villa hold?
Each of our four villas is designed for groups. Exact capacities vary by property — see the full villa details here. If your group is larger, more than one villa can be booked simultaneously, which has become a popular option for multi-family trips and milestone celebrations.
Is the pool heated?
Yes. The private pool at each villa is heated, so it’s usable year-round — not just in summer. In cooler months, there’s something particularly satisfying about a morning swim in warm water with cold desert air around you.
Do I need to bring anything for pickleball?
Paddles and balls are provided. Just bring your competitive spirit and appropriate footwear. Fair warning: the matches tend to go several more rounds than anyone originally planned.
Is Joshua Tree National Park far from the villas?
No — the park is a very short drive. You can be at a trailhead within minutes of leaving the villa, which means no half-day drives eating into your hiking time. The location was chosen deliberately for this reason.
What’s the nearest town for groceries?
We strongly recommend stocking up in Yucca Valley on your way in. It has a full supermarket and everything you need. Joshua Tree town has smaller shops but you won’t find a large grocery store there.
Is there WiFi?
Yes, each villa has fast, reliable WiFi. That said — come to Joshua Tree to be in Joshua Tree. The desert has a way of pulling people off their phones without any effort at all.
